From Goethe’s Faust. I’m Tumbling instead of working on my Byronic hero thesis. Though Goethe’s version dates to 1806, Marlowe’s was published around 1602, and various versions have faded in and out throughout the years, one thing is certain: Faust was the first Byronic hero, with the legend dating back centuries. Yeah, I’m a nerd.
